Job Description
Join a small and elite team of client architects to design next-generation data platforms for a leading financial services company. Work onsite imbedded into the client’s delivery organization while leading a world-class global engineering team, onshore and offshore
Responsibilities
- Work with customers to understand business objectives and set goals for projects
- Turn high-level business requirements into technical specifications and data models
- Establish data standards and policies for data modeling, data systems design and integrity of data assets
- Assist in the creation and leveraging of metadata management and taxonomy/canonical structures
- Evaluate hardware/software data solutions for organizational fit and feasibility
- Oversee all aspects of implementation of projects, usually carried out by remote engineering teams
- Create technical proposals and white papers for discussion with decision makers
- Develop personal relationships with engineering teams and customers
- Assist with technical sales process
Desired Skills and Experience
- Exceptional problem solving skills and intellectual curiosity
- 5-10 years of hands-on data modeling data management and software engineering experience
- Track record of creating successful (deployed to production) products or solutions
- Ability to proactively identify engineering issues and coordinate resolution
- Ability to supervise work of others and delegate tasks
- Passion for innovation and creative problem solving
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, including business owners, analysts, developers and database administrators
- Prior experience working with data modeling repository server environment and maintaining model versions/model objects, which may be common to several distinct application development efforts
- Experience with CA Erwin Version 7.3(8) .End DBMS is SQL Server, Oracle, and Tandem SQL (use target DBMS in Erwin as Informix)
- Experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Architect Version 7.5
- Experience with IBM Banking and Financial Services Data Warehouse model using EME 8.2 (8.4)
- Background in financial applications
- Great interpersonal communication skills
- BA or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field from a leading university
