Increasing file I/O performance for JVM on Linux
Abstract
Analytic data platforms are nowadays processing more and more data, and therefore their performance is becoming increasingly important. Each platform has its own ways to optimize its data bandwidth. However to build a genuinely high-performance system, it is necessary to understand all steps in the dataflow: from accepting user requests to delivering data for performing analytics. One of the most expensive and frequent operations in data streaming systems is I/O files and therefore it needs to be done efficiently. This presentation is aimed at considering different ways to optimize I/O file and memory copy routines and how it enables us to increase data bandwidth by 20%
