Senior Java Developer (hybrid)
We are seeking Senior Java Developers who are passionate about solving complex global challenges at scale. In this role, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team building secure, scalable, and high-performing systems that power mission-critical services for a vast customer base. If you have deep experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and modern containerisation tools, this is a unique opportunity to make a global impact.
This is a hybrid role based in the Warsaw office (3 days onsite / 2 days remote).
Essential functions
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team, including conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of excellence in software development practices
Write high-quality, maintainable code for critical components, features, or modules of the software application, while also contributing to the overall codebase and enforcing coding standards and best practices
Analyse and solve complex technical problems, including performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and system failures, through systematic debugging, root cause analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams
Refactoring and improving the existing codebase to enhance maintainability, extensibility, and readability, while also identifying and addressing technical debt and legacy code issues
Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, architecture diagrams, and best practices guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing, onboarding, and collaboration within the team
Ensure the overall quality and reliability of software products through rigorous testing practices, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, as well as promoting a culture of testing and quality assurance within the team
Qualifications
5+ years of backend development experience
Strong expertise in Java, Spring, Hibernate and RESTful APIs
Experience with Kafka, SQL/NoSQL databases, and distributed system design
Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Git, Maven, Jenkins
Understanding of secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP)
Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
