L1 Support Engineer (with Basic Coding Knowledge)

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented L1 Support Engineer to join our technical support team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting and has a foundational understanding of coding or scripting. You will be responsible for providing first-level support for commercial software tools, handling user inquiries, diagnosing issues, and escalating complex problems when necessary. At least 2 years of experience in customer support for commercial software products is required, along with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Please note that the working hours are from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Essential functions

  • Thoroughly investigate user issues to provide accurate bug localization and suggest workarounds if possible.

  • Reproduce issues based on user reports.

  • Provide technical support through ticketing systems, community forums, and social media.

  • Learn every aspect of the product.

  • Collect project knowledge to share common answers and workarounds with external users.

  • Communicate with project stakeholders, including developers, QAs, the marketing team, and others

Qualifications

  • Have at least two years of experience in providing customer support for commercial software tools.

  • Have coding experience (at least theoretical + Markup, junior level is enough)

  • Be familiar with one or more JetBrains IDEs & products

  • Have experience with bug-tracking systems, such as YouTrack or Jira.

  • Be proficient in English, both written and spoken.

  • Have strong communication skills.

  • Enjoy helping users no matter what issues they experience.

Would be a plus

  • Familiarity with major OSs, Bash, SSH, and SQL.

  • Experience with any AI tool for IDEs.

  • Understanding of version control systems.

  • Knowledge of network protocols.

  • Experience in collecting and sharing knowledge.
