Senior QA Automation Engineer
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join a new team focused on replacing mock tests with fully automated tests running on live environments. This is a great opportunity to shape testing strategy from the ground up, implement modern tooling, and drive Shift Left Testing practices in a fast-moving environment.
Essential functions
Automate existing mock tests and replace them with live tests across all environments, including production-like setups.
Design, develop, and maintain automated UI and end-to-end tests using Playwright.
Convert manual test scenarios into automated ones to expand coverage and minimize regression risks.
Collaborate closely with developers and QA engineers to promote early testing (Shift-Left approach) and ensure seamless CI/CD integration.
Investigate test failures, troubleshoot flaky tests, and improve overall test reliability.
Write clear, reusable, and maintainable test cases and automation scripts.
Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and end-to-end testing, including API mocking and request interception.
Practical experience testing applications in both SSR (Server-Side Rendering) and CSR (Client-Side Rendering) environments.
Strong skills in debugging and troubleshooting, with a focus on handling flaky tests.
Ability to design well-structured, maintainable, and reusable test cases.
Familiarity with Shift-Left Testing practices and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Solid proficiency in TypeScript.
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or Vitest.
Would be a plus
- Some experience with writing tests for GraphQL/ExpressJS servers
- Some experience with writing tests for React UIs
- Some reporting frameworks
- Using APIs directly to debug/grab mock data
