Senior Software Engineer (Python or Golang)
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join an internal tools team working on a system that streamlines feature branch deployments for in-progress development.
The service is tightly integrated with a large-scale internal CI/CD platform, automatically deploying feature branches to isolated preview environments. It currently supports a wide range of frontend development teams across over 45 projects and is being expanded to handle web application deployments into a Kubernetes (K8s) environment.
You’ll work directly with a customer engineer to gather requirements and implement backend features that improve deployment workflows for other internal developers and QA engineers.
Essential functions
Collaborate closely with a designated engineer to gather technical requirements and align on implementation.
Develop and maintain backend services in Python or Golang.
Extend existing tooling to support web applications using Kubernetes for orchestration.
Integrate the service with internal CI/CD systems and workflows.
Design APIs and work with relational databases as needed.
Deliver well-tested, maintainable code that supports internal engineering needs.
Participate in working sessions overlapping with the California-based team (2–3 hours/day).
Qualifications
Strong experience with Python or Golang.
Solid understanding of Linux environments.
Hands-on experience working with Kubernetes.
Experience building and maintaining web services.
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a remote engineering team.
Willingness to work a slightly shifted schedule (toward evening hours) for time zone overlap.
Would be a plus
Experience with building internal tools for developers or QA.
Frontend/UI development experience.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
Knowledge of containerization and deployment best practices.
