Software Engineer

Essential functions

·      Design and execute user-facing features on Android devices by leveraging mobile operating system frameworks for multi-threading, persisting data, and managing user experience and graphics across multiple screen sizes.

·      Build responsive native apps for Android.

·      Develop and maintain Android application features in coordination with senior engineers.

·      Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to implement functionality.

·      Conduct code reviews and improve code quality by following Android best practices.

·      Work with MVVM design patterns.

·      Stay up to date with the latest Android trends and tools, incorporating them into development work.

·      Various worksites—job may allow for remote work, job may involve relocation to anticipated or unanticipated locations across the United States, including client sites and Grid Dynamics’ offices throughout the United States and/or company headquarters located in San Ramon, CA.

Qualifications

·      Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field

·      At least ONE (1) year of experience in the job offered or at least ONE (1) year of experience in the following:

1.     Developing Android mobiles applications using MVVM design patterns and Kotlin

2.     REST APIs with Retrofit

3.     Jetpack Navigation Component, ViewModels, LiveData and building UI with Jetpack Compose

4.     Multi-threading using State Flow and coroutines

5.     Using Bluetooth Profiles and data transfer using GATT Protocol

6.     Wifi Direct and Network Service Discovery (NSD)

7.     Bluetooth LE/Classic and Android SDK APIs
