Java Software Engineer(with SAP experience)

Essential functions

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Boot in a cloud-native environment.

• Build and support enterprise integrations, with a strong focus on EDI-based solutions.

• Install, configure, and develop integrations using IBM Sterling Integrator, including business processes and trading partner setups.

• Implement and support EDI transaction flows (e.g., 850, 860, 810, 856, 214, ORDERS, ORDRSP, DESADV).

• Develop and manage Managed File Transfer (MFT) templates and secure data exchanges with external partners.

• Handle data transformations between formats (EDI, XML, JSON) to support end-to-end integrations.

• Integrate backend services with SAP systems and other enterprise platforms using API-based integrations.

• Design and deploy solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, and OpenSearch.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth containerized deployments using Docker and Jenkins.

• Write high-quality, testable code, including unit tests with JUnit and Mockito.

• Set up and maintain logging and monitoring, including proactive monitoring of EDI interfaces and infrastructure (e.g., Splunk).

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand end-to-end integration flows.

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve integration and production issues with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve integration processes and system stability.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java (SE/EE) and Spring Boot.

• Solid experience designing and working with microservices architectures.

• Hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS (experience with SQS, SNS, OpenSearch is a plus).

• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins.

• Experience with Gradle for build and dependency management.

• Strong focus on code quality, including unit testing with JUnit and Mockito.

• Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Integrator and EDI integrations.

• Strong knowledge of EDI standards and transaction sets (X12 / EDIFACT).

• Hands-on SAP integration experience, including API-based integrations and business process integration with SAP systems.

• Experience with data transformations (XML, JSON).

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Splunk or similar).

• Strong analytical skills and ability to work closely with business stakeholders.
