Senior Java Developer
We are looking for a skilled Java Developer to join our growing offshore team supporting the Supply Chain track for a major US-based specialty retailer. This role involves working on a variety of small-to-medium-sized projects within a modern microservices environment. You will be part of an expanding team of over 10 professionals, contributing to high-impact retail and logistics solutions.
Essential functions
Develop and Maintain Services: Build and scale robust applications using Java 17 and the Spring Framework.
Reactive Programming: Implement asynchronous and non-blocking logic using Spring WebFlux.
API Development: Design and build high-performance RESTful APIs.
Data Management: Work with a mix of SQL and NoSQL databases (such as Oracle and Cassandra) and manage relational data modeling via JPA.
Architecture & Messaging: Apply microservices principles and utilize Kafka (or similar message brokers) for event-driven communication.
CI/CD & Versioning: Manage project builds using Maven or Gradle and maintain code integrity through Git.
Qualifications
4–7 years of work experience.
Strong Proficiency in Java 17: Deep understanding of modern Java features and syntax.
Spring Framework Expertise: Solid hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Data.
Reactive Programming: 6–12 months of dedicated experience with Spring WebFlux.
Database Knowledge: Proficiency in both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database environments.
Architectural Understanding: Familiarity with microservices architecture and message brokers (Kafka).
Build Tools: Confident use of Maven/Gradle and Git.
Would be a plus
- Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs
- Working experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Cassandra)
