Senior Python (AI) Engineer

Essential functions

• Design and develop backend services in Python (async-first architecture)

• Build and maintain REST and streaming APIs (SSE)

• Integrate LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI API)

• Contribute to RAG pipelines and embedding-based retrieval systems

• Design authentication and authorization flows (OAuth2, JWT)

• Design database schemas and optimize PostgreSQL queries

• Contribute to architectural decisions and system scalability improvements

• Implement testing strategies (unit and integration tests)

• Collaborate closely with ML engineers, QA, and Product stakeholders

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience with strong Python expertise (3.10+)

• Solid experience with async/await and asyncio

• Experience with FastAPI or similar async web frameworks

• Hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization)

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT)

• Strong understanding of scalable backend architecture principles

• Experience working with third-party APIs and external integrations

• Experience integrating LLM APIs is a strong advantage, but not mandatory if you have solid backend fundamentals and strong interest in AI systems

Would be a plus

• Experience with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI)

• Experience with RAG architectures and embedding-based retrieval

• Experience with LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks

• Knowledge of Kafka or event-driven architectures

• Experience with horizontal scaling and session management

• Understanding of SSE vs WebSocket trade-offs

• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana)

• Basic knowledge of NLP concepts
