Principal Solution Architect (AI & Cloud Platforms)
As a Principal Solution Architect at Grid Dynamics, you will lead the design of large-scale, cloud-native and AI-driven solutions for enterprise clients.
You will operate at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, guiding digital transformation programs, defining architectural blueprints, and driving the adoption of AI-accelerated engineering practices across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
This is a high-impact, client-facing role where you will influence executive stakeholders, shape long-term technology roadmaps, and establish architectural governance standards across complex programs.
Essential functions
Lead end-to-end technical discovery and architecture assessments for enterprise clients
Define modernization strategies and target-state architectures
Design scalable cloud-native platforms and composable service ecosystems
Architect AI-enabled and agentic workflows for complex enterprise use cases
Drive adoption of AI-First engineering methodologies and SDLC acceleration practices
Lead vendor evaluations and product selection processes (“buy vs. build” analysis)
Establish architectural governance, ensuring security, scalability, resilience, and performance standards
Act as a trusted advisor to VP- and Director-level stakeholders
Translate complex architectural trade-offs into business value
Lead technical discovery phases and contribute to RFP responses
Contribute to corporate blueprints, solution frameworks, and thought leadership initiatives
Define operational readiness models, SLAs/SLOs, and long-term sustainability frameworks
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in senior architecture or technical leadership roles
Proven track record delivering large-scale enterprise digital transformation programs
Strong expertise in cloud-native architecture patterns and modern engineering practices (DevOps, SRE, security, quality)
Experience designing distributed, composable, and platform-based systems
Practical experience integrating Generative AI or AI-driven capabilities into enterprise solutions
Experience leading and aligning cross-functional pods (Product, UX, Data Science, Engineering, etc.)
Strong client-facing consulting experience
Experience defining technical roadmaps and aligning architecture with business objectives
Exceptional communication skills, including executive-level presentation and visual storytelling
Would be a plus
Experience designing AI agentic workflows or enterprise AI platforms
Experience working with ISV partners such as Google Cloud, Databricks, or commercetools
Industry background in Retail, Finance, or High-Tech
Polyglot architecture expertise (Java, Python, TypeScript, etc.)
Experience establishing AI governance, safety guardrails, and secure AI operational models
Experience defining SLAs/SLOs and operational excellence frameworks
Contributions to the tech community (blogs, public speaking, open-source projects)
