Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with .Net

Wroclaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Warsaw, Poland

We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong background in .NET to join a global project in the financial and payments sector. In this role, you will ensure the high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical distributed systems. You will act as the bridge between infrastructure and application development, deep-diving into code to fix bugs while scaling and automating the production environment.

Essential functions

  • System Ownership: Understand the end-to-end product topology (infrastructure and application) to proactively identify and mitigate risks before they impact production.

  • Production Health: Oversee the production environment, tracking availability, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of system health.

  • Incident Management: Respond to outages, provide Level 3 on-call support (based on rotation), and perform blameless root cause analysis to implement long-term preventative solutions.

  • Security & Compliance: Manage application and container vulnerabilities, patching processes, and security monitoring. Monitor and manage certificate renewals in line with industry best practices.

  • Code & Architecture: Address defects, perform code bug fixes directly in production, and recommend architectural improvements during incident analysis.

  • Automation: Build automation to reduce manual operations, toil, and improve system efficiency.

  • Collaboration: Partner with development teams to embed reliability best practices into the SDLC. Represent the SRE team in design reviews, capacity planning, and operational readiness exercises.

  • Mentorship: Spread the SRE culture, create standard documentation, and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5-7+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles.

  • Application Stack: Strong proficiency in .NET and MS SQL (ability to read, debug, and patch application code).

  • Infrastructure: Expertise in Linux systems, networking, and distributed architectures.

  • Containers: Hands-on experience with container orchestration, specifically Kubernetes.

  • Observability: Strong understanding of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.

Would be a plus

  • Background in high-traffic financial services, banking, or payment processing environments.

  • Passion for evangelizing SRE culture and fostering innovation within engineering teams.

  • Experience writing custom automation scripts or internal developer tools.

We offer
