Big Data/Hadoop Production Support
We are seeking an experienced Big Data/Hadoop Production Support Lead with strong expertise in Hadoop ecosystem and application production support. This role will be responsible for leading L2 production support operations for large-scale Big Data environments serving approximately 5,000 active users.
Essential functions
Production Support & Incident Management
Provide L2 production support for Big Data applications running on Hadoop ecosystem.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve job failures, performance issues, and system slowness.
Handle incident management, problem management, and user onboarding support.
Ensure adherence to defined SLAs, especially P1 and P2 incident resolution timelines.
Act as the primary escalation point for critical production issues.
Qualifications
Strong experience in Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, HDFS, Yarn
Extensive experience in Production Support (L2/L3) environments
Experience handling large Hadoop clusters and enterprise-scale environments
Strong troubleshooting skills in batch processing, job failures, and performance tuning
Experience with Linux/Unix systems
Knowledge of monitoring tools and incident management processes
Experience working in 24/7 support or global delivery models
Would be a plus
Experience with automation, scripting (Python, Shell scripting)
Exposure to workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Oozie, etc.)
Familiarity with ITIL processes
Experience supporting environments with thousands of users
