Senior Big Data Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Big Data Engineer to join a large-scale data platform modernization initiative. The primary objective is to migrate an existing on-premises HDFS and Hive-based ecosystem to a cloud-based object storage environment.
Essential functions
Develop and maintain an AI-driven platform for automated code refactoring using Python-based AI agent frameworks
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and enrichment of large-scale datasets
Validate and ensure correctness of migrated data, including verification of Spark jobs and transformation logic
Contribute to code reviews and enforce engineering best practices
Support troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution throughout migration activities
Document technical solutions, including pipeline architecture and operational procedures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of migration strategy
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Python
Experience with Python ecosystem tools such as uv, SQLAlchemy, Alembic
Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Strong knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
Hands-on experience with AI agent development frameworks (e.g., Claude Agent SDK, CrewAI, LangGraph)
Would be a plus
Apache Iceberg (or similar table formats like Delta Lake / Apache Hudi) for schema evolution, ACID transactions, and time travel.
Experience in migration projects or large-scale data platform modernization.
