Engineering Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead a SOX compliance assessment initiative within a large-scale data platform. The project focuses on evaluating compliance requirements for financially impactful data flows and delivering a clear, actionable implementation roadmap.

! Required daily overlap with US time zones until 3 PM PST !

Essential functions

  • Own the end-to-end project plan for the 13-week SOX compliance assessment, including milestones, dependencies, and deliverable timelines
  • Drive cross-functional coordination between engineering contractors, ASE Compliance, IS&T, finance, and senior leadership
  • Manage stakeholder communication including status reporting, risk escalation, and executive updates
  • Track and manage project risks, blockers, and dependencies across multiple workstreams
  • Facilitate technical review sessions, architecture decision meetings, and cross-team alignment discussions
  • Coordinate the production of final deliverables: recommended solution path, implementation scope, headcount projections, and timeline/cost estimates
  • Ensure assessment outputs are structured and documented to support downstream approval processes (finance, headcount, implementation)
  • Maintain project artifacts including RAID logs, decision registers, and timeline dashboards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering program or project management within a technology organization

  • Demonstrated experience managing technical assessment or infrastructure projects with cross-functional dependencies

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, data engineering workflows, and platform operations

  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear stakeholder communications and decision frameworks

  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience

Would be a plus

  • Experience managing compliance, audit, or regulatory projects (SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or similar)

  • Familiarity with IT general controls (ITGCs) and how they apply to data platforms and engineering systems

  • Background in data platform or data engineering program management

  • Track record of delivering assessment-to-implementation transitions, including headcount and budget planning

  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification
