Senior FinOps / Infrastructure Cost Analyst
We are looking for a Senior FinOps / Infrastructure Cost Analyst to drive infrastructure cost visibility, forecasting, and efficiency across a large-scale platform. This role sits at the intersection of data, cloud infrastructure, and finance, with a strong focus on building cost attribution models, forecasting infrastructure demand, and optimizing cloud spend.
Essential functions
Build and maintain cloud cost attribution models to provide clear visibility into infrastructure spend across teams, products, and workloads
Develop and support cost of revenue pipelines and models
Develop forecasting models and design systems for infrastructure capacity planning across cloud and on-prem environments
Analyze infrastructure utilization and workload characteristics to identify inefficiencies and drive cost optimization initiatives
Define and track unit cost metrics (e.g., cost per request, cost per GB, cost per pipeline run) and develop unit economics to improve efficiency
Build dashboards, automated reporting, and datasets to enable a cost-aware culture and transparency across engineering and finance teams
Develop internal tools, APIs, and resource management solutions (e.g., quota/subscription systems) to support scalable infrastructure usage
Collaborate with engineering, finance, procurement, and hardware teams to align capacity planning, budgeting, and infrastructure strategy
Support demand management and onboarding of new services through data-driven capacity insights
Contribute to governance models for infrastructure consumption, allocation, and scaling
Share best practices and mentor engineers on scalability, cost efficiency, and operational resilience
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, or FinOps roles
Strong experience with cloud cost analysis, cost attribution, and spend optimization
Experience building forecasting models and working with large-scale datasets
Solid understanding of cloud billing models and optimization levers (e.g., reserved instances, committed use discounts, spot/preemptible usage, rightsizing)
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with data modeling and data visualization tools
Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
