Staff MLOps Engineer
We are hiring a Staff MLOps Engineer to lead the design, scaling, and automation of our next-generation AI/ML infrastructure. As a technical leader, you will collaborate across engineering teams to establish best-in-class MLOps standards, integrate AI-assisted developer tools, and ensure our AI/ML systems remain secure, private, and resilient at enterprise scale.
Working hours: Overlap until 12 pm PST.
Contract: B2B (sole proprietorship)
Essential functions
Research and develop state-of-the-art AI/ML solutions and tools that transform how we train, deploy, and monitor models
Work at the intersection of scale and privacy. You will design secure, private, and highly performant systems, ensuring our systems respect and protect user privacy as a core engineering feature.
Act as a technical leader. You will collaborate with broader teams, actively participating in design discussions, giving and receiving constructive feedback, and mentoring junior engineers.
Participate in our highly collaborative environment to elevate our engineering standards. From design reviews and rigorous code reviews to robust test automation, you will ensure our AI/ML systems are maintainable and resilient.
Qualifications
5–7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a dedicated focus on AI/ML
Deep understanding of traditional ML concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning) as well as Generative AI
Proven expertise in system design and high-scale distributed data processing
Practical experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala
Would be a plus
Hands-on experience with MLOps and deploying ML infrastructure using tools like Kubernetes, MLflow, or Ray.
Familiarity with using LLM coding tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude) and developer tools to accelerate software engineering workflows
