Senior Flutter Developer
Client is a leading provider of restaurant point-of-sale (POS) hardware and software solutions, with approximately $350M in FY2024 revenue and a workforce of around 1,900–2,000 employees.
client is currently driving a next-generation POS 2.0 transformation initiative for enterprise restaurant customers. As part of this initiative, the client is modernising its technology ecosystem while continuing to support existing customers on legacy platforms during the transition to the new POS solution.
Essential functions
Architect the Flutter-via-Avalonia UI layer and the .NET business logic layer for Team 1's workstream.
Implement and extend the local-first data model so terminals can operate independently offline, then reconcile once connectivity is restored.
Ensure the application performs well on low-cost, client-owned hardware across Windows, Linux, and Android.
Mentor the pod's Mid-level Mobile/UI engineer(s) and review their code.
Coordinate with the Pod Lead and AWS Backend Engineer on the sync contract for this workstream.
Qualifications
Tech Skills :-
5–8 years of mobile/native application engineering experience.
Hands-on Flutter experience is required — this is the primary skill we're sourcing against. The client's actual target on-device UI framework is Avalonia (a .NET-native cross-platform UI framework), which they're pairing with Flutter concepts for this build. Avalonia talent is scarce in the market, so candidates should be evaluated on strong Flutter fundamentals plus genuine willingness/aptitude to pick up Avalonia quickly — prior Avalonia exposure is a strong plus but not a hard requirement.
Solid .NET experience for the business-logic layer underneath the UI.
Experience building software for constrained or embedded hardware (low-cost, client-owned devices).
Comfort working across Windows, Linux, and Android as target platforms (not iOS — this platform is not in scope).
Would be a plus
Prior POS, kiosk, or embedded-device software experience; any direct Avalonia project experience.
Sourcing note: Given Avalonia's thin external market, plan to source primarily on strong Flutter profiles (internal GD bench first, then external) and treat Avalonia as an on-the-job ramp-up rather than a pre-req filter.
