Lead Full-Stack Engineer

Novi Sad, Belgrade, Nis, Serbia

We are seeking a Senior / Lead Full-Stack Engineer to drive technical design and end-to-end delivery for the world’s largest home improvement retail network. In this hands-on leadership role, you will take ownership of team-level technical architecture, guide execution, and build high-impact applications that support millions of customers across North America.

Essential functions

  • Drive technical design, architecture, and hands-on implementation of scalable full-stack applications.

  • Lead team-level technical decisions, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineers on best practices.

  • Build high-performing, resilient backend microservices using Java and modern enterprise frameworks.

  • Develop intuitive, responsive user interfaces using React and modern frontend state management.

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud-native solutions across major platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in a Senior or Lead role with experience owning technical design and guiding team execution.

  • Deep production experience with backend development using Java.

  • Strong hands-on proficiency with frontend frameworks, specifically React.

  • Practical experience building and deploying applications on at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

  • Strong background in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native design.

Would be a plus

  • Experience working within enterprise-scale retail, supply chain, or high-throughput e-commerce systems.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices.

  • Experience with state management libraries, TypeScript, and modern frontend performance optimization.
