Senior Low-Latency Java Engineer

We are seeking an expert Senior Low-Latency Java Engineer to join our team.

Essential functions

  • Latency Optimization: Profile, analyze, and systematically eliminate long-tail latency spikes across the FX eTrading application pipeline.

  • Zero-GC Engineering: Design, write, and refactor high-throughput core Java code utilizing zero-allocation and low-GC techniques.

  • JVM Performance Tuning: Perform deep profiling and tuning of the JVM/JRE runtime, memory usage, thread scheduling, and execution paths.

  • Framework Development: Build and maintain high-performance execution workflows utilizing specialized low-latency Java frameworks (e.g., Ambrosia) and telemetry stacks (Grafana, KDB+).

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with quant developers, system architects, and trading desks to optimize order execution, pricing engines, and market data feeds.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in core Java engineering with a dedicated focus on ultra-low latency and high performance.

  • Deep knowledge of JRE/JVM internals, memory architecture, and zero-GC / low-allocation design patterns.

  • Hands-on proficiency with Java profiling tools (e.g., Java Flight Recorder, Async-Profiler, JProfiler) and performance diagnostic techniques.

  • Proven track record of performance tuning, thread concurrency management, and long-tail latency reduction in production systems.

  • Strong operating knowledge of Linux system internals, memory management, and high-performance I/O.

Would be a plus

  • Domain knowledge of FX (Foreign Exchange) electronic trading, algorithmic execution, or market data platforms.

  • Experience with low-latency frameworks and libraries (e.g., LMAX Disruptor, Chronicle Queue/Map, Aeron, or proprietary execution engines).

  • Familiarity with telemetry and quantitative analysis tools such as KDB+/q and Grafana.

  • Background in hardware-accelerated networking, kernel bypass, or CPU pinning/affinity strategies.
