Staff Software Engineer

Essential functions

·      Develop solutions using Grid Dynamics’ in-house software tools, methodologies, and processes.

·      Design, build, and maintain scalable web services.

·      Contribute to the architecture of eCommerce platforms.

·      Refactor code for maintainability and performance and work on performance optimizations.

·      Design and implement server-side rendering (SSR) architecture, leveraging Webpack for advanced code-splitting, tree-shaking, and critical asset optimization.

·      Customize and debug JavaScript bundling pipelines using Webpack, Vite and esbuild.

·      Support platform reliability efforts by enhancing observability and implementing monitoring solutions.

·      Implement distributed tracing using OpenTelemetry and correlated it with application level metrics using New Relic and Sentry.

·      Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployment and automation processes.

·      Work in a Cloud environment.

·      Create documentation such as architecture overviews and engineering guidelines.

·      Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and contribute to system-level engineering decisions.

·      Various worksites—job may allow for remote work, job may involve relocation to anticipated or unanticipated locations across the United States, including client sites and Grid Dynamics’ offices throughout the United States and/or company headquarters located in San Ramon, CA.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor of Science degree in any technology field.

·      At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered or at least TWO (2) years of experience in the following:

1.              Designing and implementing SSR architecture, leveraging Webpack for advanced code splitting, tree-shaking, and critical asset optimization.

2.              Optimizing JavaScript build workflows by customizing and debugging Webpack and Babel configurations.

3.              Implementing distributed tracing across a microservices-based architecture using OpenTelemetry.

4.              Integrating New Relic to correlate traces, surface performance bottlenecks, and monitor latency across asynchronous and serverless components.

5.              Content Security Policy (CSP) implementation with dynamic nonce injection for SSR.

6.              GraphQL API integration using Apollo Client.

Two years of experience must also include at least ONE (1) year of experience in the following:

7.              JavaScript bundlers: esbuild & Vite
