Lead UI Engineer (Vue.js / Nuxt)

Novi Sad, Belgrade, Nis, Serbia

We are seeking a Lead UI Engineer to join an international team driving web application modernization for one of top 10 e-commerce and retail platforms in the US. In this role, you will lead the frontend engineering efforts focused on core site navigation (header, footer) as well as feature development for Product Listing Pages (PLP) and Product Detail Pages (PDP). As a technical anchor and mentor, you will drive architectural decisions, conduct rigorous code reviews, merge MRs, and ensure the delivery of high-performing, scalable user interfaces using Vue.js and Nuxt.

Essential functions

  • Lead frontend development efforts for high-traffic site features, including site navigation, header/footer components, and PLP/PDP experience enhancements.

  • Perform technical code reviews and manage Merge Requests (MRs) to maintain high code quality and architecture standards.

  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor for developers across an international, cross-functional team (EM, SM, QA, and engineers).

  • Architect and build scalable, responsive web interfaces using Vue.js and Nuxt.

Qualifications

  • Deep, expert-level hands-on experience with Vue.js and modern JavaScript web architectures.

  • Proven track record of leading UI development teams and mentoring frontend engineers.

  • Solid experience managing development workflows, including code reviews and handling Merge Requests (MRs).

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

  • Availability for partial schedule overlap with US-based onsite teams.

Would be a plus

  • Hands-on experience with Nuxt.js framework for server-side rendering and static site generation.

  • Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or modern cloud infrastructure.

  • Previous experience working on large-scale, high-traffic e-commerce platforms or retail applications.
