Robotics Engineer

Munich, Germany

We’re looking for a Robotics Engineer to join a project building a full robotics stack for an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle), working directly on-site with our client. This isn’t a purely remote software role — we’re looking for someone comfortable across the full spectrum of robotics development: simulation, navigation, localization, behaviors, and tooling, while also getting hands-on with the physical robot in the field. Role requires working on-site in the Munich area, 3 days/week from the start.

Essential functions

  • Contribute to the development of a full robotics stack, covering simulation, navigation, localization, robot behaviors, and internal tooling.

  • Perform testing and tuning of complex navigation systems directly on the AGV, on-site.

  • Work together with the client’s fleet manager on the robot’s perception stack.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, networking, and embedded electronics issues on the robot in real time.

  • Potentially manage a team and its resources as the project scales.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of solutions for challenging customer and R&D problems.

  • Travel for 1–2 week periods for on-site deployments when required.

  • Pass on your passion for technology and professionalism to your peers.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience (+4 years) with ROS or ROS2

  • Strong experience (+4 years) coding in modern C++ (17+) and Python 3

  • Working knowledge of networking and electronics (important for the field-facing side of this role)

  • Experience with Docker / containerized applications

  • Degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field

  • Hands-on experience working with real robots (not just simulation)

  • Can independently tackle mid-sized software development tasks across the stack (simulation, navigation, localization, behaviors, tooling)

  • Are comfortable in technical discussions and can propose solutions

  • Solid technical English, spoken and written

  • Availability to travel for 1–2 week deployments when needed

  • Are open to eventually taking on team/resource management responsibilities as the project grows

Would be a plus

  • Full-stack development experience

  • Experience with robotics simulation (Gazebo, NVIDIA Omniverse, or similar)

  • System administration experience

  • Contribution to open source projects

  • An active membership of a robotics/tech community or have done public speaking on technical topics

  • Good level of Spanish

We offer

  • Opportunity to work on bleeding-edge projects

  • Work with a highly motivated and dedicated team

  • Corporate social events

  • Professional development opportunities

  • Well-equipped office
