Platform Engineer
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join a simulation engineering pod supporting the migration of an autonomy simulation platform to NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim for a global heavy-equipment manufacturer that is scaling autonomy, robotics and physical AI. In this role, you will own the platform layer every simulation user touches, working with the client’s simulation engineers and our infrastructure engineer to build, package and release the platform, keep builds fast and reliable through a repository migration, and create the developer tooling and APIs that autonomy teams rely on to test their software at scale.
Essential functions
Build, Packaging & Release Ownership: Own the build systems, packaging and release workflows of the simulation platform’s C++ and Python codebase, from source to versioned, consumable releases.
Repository Migration Support: Help move the platform from its existing engine to Omniverse and Isaac Sim, supporting the repository migration while keeping builds fast, stable and reproducible.
Developer Tooling & APIs: Design and build developer tools, backend services, APIs and SDKs that make the platform easy for other teams to adopt and use.
Shared CI/CD Pipelines: Work with the pod’s infrastructure engineer on shared CI/CD pipelines that serve both platform and simulation workloads.
Build & Runtime Performance: Profile and optimize build times and runtime performance so that simulation users get fast feedback as the scenario framework grows.
Qualifications
Commercial experience in build, release or platform engineering for C++ and Python software.
Build & Release Engineering: Hands-on experience with build systems, packaging and release workflows for C++ and Python projects.
Developer Tooling & CI/CD: Proven track record of building developer tooling and designing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
C++ & Python: Strong programming skills in both languages.
Platform Services: Experience building backend services, APIs or SDKs consumed by other engineering teams.
Performance Optimization: Ability to profile and optimize both runtime and build performance.
Would be a plus
NVIDIA Simulation Stack: Experience developing Omniverse Kit or Isaac Sim extensions.
Repository Migration & Monorepos: Experience migrating repositories or working with monorepo build tools.
Simulation Lifecycle Management: Experience versioning simulations, assets and results.
Distributed & Runtime Systems: Background in distributed systems, runtime systems and system integration.
