Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer

Wroclaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Warsaw, Poland

We are seeking a Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer to join a new simulation engineering team building an AI-first simulation platform on NVIDIA technologies for a global heavy-equipment manufacturer that is scaling autonomy, robotics, digital twins and physical AI. In this role, you will work between our engineering team and the client’s autonomy, robotics and simulation teams, bringing machine behavior into Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab, connecting it to the autonomy stack through ROS 2, and taking controllers, policies and tests from simulation to real heavy machines.

Essential functions

  • Machine Behavior in Simulation: Bring robot and machine behavior into simulation and connect it to the autonomy stack through ROS 2 on a greenfield Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab platform.

  • Controls, Planning & Learned Policies: Build and tune controllers, planners and learned policies for simulated robots and vehicles in Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab.

  • Autonomy Validation: Support autonomy validation with scenario-based simulation tests.

  • Sim-to-Real: Close the sim-to-real gap together with the team’s physics and sensor simulation engineers.

  • Simulation AI Agents: Build agents that automate behavior testing and scenario runs, cutting manual engineering effort and speeding up autonomy development.

Qualifications

  • Commercial experience in robotics or autonomy engineering with a strong focus on simulation, at a senior level.

  • Isaac Sim & Isaac Lab: Hands-on experience simulating robot or vehicle behavior and autonomy with NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab.

  • ROS 2 Integration: Proven experience connecting autonomy software to a simulator through ROS 2.

  • Controls & Planning: Ability to implement and tune controllers and planners for simulated robots or vehicles.

  • Sim-to-Real Transfer: Track record of taking behaviors, policies or tests from simulation to real hardware.

  • Simulation Automation: Experience building simulation AI agents or automation in Python.

Would be a plus

  • Learning-Based Control: Experience with reinforcement learning or imitation learning in Isaac Lab.

  • Scenario-Based Validation: Experience validating autonomy with scenario-based testing in simulation.

  • Heavy Machines: Background with mobile machines, off-road vehicles or heavy equipment.

  • C++: Working proficiency in C++.

  • Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel to client sites when needed.
