Senior Robotics Engineer (Control & Teleoperation)

London, United Kingdom

We are looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer (Control & Teleoperation) to join our client's groundbreaking project. Our client is a highly innovative technology company dedicated to building the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. With their flagship platform already running in real industrial pilots, you will be joining a team that is actively amplifying human potential through advanced, human-in-the-loop robotics.

Essential functions

  • Develop teleoperation capabilities for controlling multi-DoF platforms across manipulation, mobility, and loco-manipulation tasks.

  • Integrate input devices, including VR controllers, haptic devices, motion capture systems, and custom operator stations, into the core software stack.

  • Translate noisy, high-frequency human input into smooth, physically feasible, and stable robot commands with predictable behavior.

  • Build robust teleoperation infrastructure for real-time data streaming, calibration, replay, debugging, and high-quality demonstration capture.

  • Develop shared-autonomy and assistive-control features that blend human intent with robot capability to improve precision and safety.

  • Create safe operating boundaries, limiters, alerts, and emergency recovery flows for hardware-facing systems.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to write highly reliable software in C++ and Python.

  • Strong robotics fundamentals, including kinematics, coordinate frames, control interfaces, and state estimation basics.

  • Commercial experience with ROS/ROS2, real-time data streaming, or robotic middleware.

  • Direct experience building teleoperation systems, master-slave setups, operator UIs, or haptic control loops.

  • Exceptional debugging skills across the entire stack, from operator input devices to robot motion, sensors, and hardware behavior.

Would be a plus

  • Hands-on experience building or debugging software for real robotic hardware (humanoids, dexterous systems, or mobile manipulators).

  • Experience collecting high-quality demonstrations for imitation learning or behavior cloning pipelines.

  • Exposure to intent inference, force feedback, or custom control devices.

  • A product-minded approach prioritizing intuitive, safe, and reliable operator experiences.

We offer

  • Opportunity to work on bleeding-edge projects
  • Work with a highly motivated and dedicated team
  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible schedule
  • Benefits package - medical insurance, sports
  • Corporate social events
  • Professional development opportunities
