Senior Kotlin Mobile Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Kotlin Mobile Engineer to join a new initiative focused on a full rewrite of the mobile application for a Fortune 500 leader in B2B distribution and supply chain. In this role, you will lead a dedicated engineering pod, setting the technical direction for the new application and owning its delivery with Kotlin and Kotlin/Native.

Essential functions

  • Mobile Application Rewrite: Drive the end-to-end rewrite of the client’s mobile application, from shaping the new architecture to delivering production-ready features.

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a pod of engineers, set coding standards, review code, and keep the team aligned on priorities and quality.

  • Kotlin/Native Development: Design and build shared application logic in Kotlin and Kotlin/Native.

  • Build & Configuration Ownership: Own and evolve the project’s build setup and configuration using Kotlin DSL.

  • Back-end Collaboration: Work closely with back-end teams on integrations and API contracts, bringing a full-stack view to technical decisions.

Qualifications

  • Commercial experience in mobile software development with Kotlin.

  • Kotlin/Native: Hands-on experience building applications or shared modules with Kotlin/Native.

  • Kotlin DSL: Practical experience configuring and maintaining builds with Kotlin DSL.

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading engineering teams or technical workstreams.

  • Ownership Mindset: Comfort driving a large-scale rewrite with responsibility for both technical decisions and delivery.

Would be a plus

  • Back-end Java Experience: Hands-on experience developing back-end services in Java.

  • Greenfield & Rewrite Projects: Experience modernising or rebuilding an existing application from the ground up.

  • Hybrid Work: Readiness to work in a hybrid format with regular on-site presence.
