Senior Automation QA Engineer (JavaScript)
At Grid Dynamics we are looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer (JavaScript) who will be responsible for building and maintaining automated test suites to validate the performance, functionality, and reliability of the client’s enterprise storefront solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate automated testing into the development lifecycle and ensure high product quality.
Essential functions
Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for UI and API layers using modern frameworks
Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to define test strategies and ensure test coverage
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and monitor test results for quality assurance
Analyze test failures, report defects, and support root cause analysis with development teams
Create reusable test components and maintain test data
Contribute to QA documentation and knowledge sharing
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
Qualifications
Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or REST Assured
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and containerized environments
Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative development workflows
Experience with test case management systems (e.g., TestRail) and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
Solid understanding of QA best practices and defect lifecycle
Would be a plus
Background in CMS testing, personalization engines, or MACH architecture
Experience in testing e-commerce or B2B platforms
Knowledge of performance or load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6)
Utilized Nx workspace to organize and maintain E2E and component tests in a monorepo environment
Worked with Storybook to test and validate UI components in isolation
Integrated Axe with Playwright/Storybook for automated accessibility checks
