Brokerage account transfers move through a chain of manual handoffs: a receiving firm, DTCC and ACATS, a delivering firm, plus regulatory checks for AML, KYC, and customer protection. Over the last 24 months, that chain produced 116,000 improper transfer rejections and delays stretching past 100 days. RPA bots and stateless microservices weren’t built for a process that runs for weeks. They forget context between retries, and a retry is not a rollback.
