Shimano, a $5B bicycle components, fishing tackle and rowing equipment company, engaged us to improve the overall performance of their EU B2B platform. We conducted an Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and SAPShimano, a $5B bicycle components, fishing tackle, and rowing equipment company, sought to enhance the performance, stability, and security of its EU B2B platform. Facing complex scaling challenges, manual infrastructure management, and the need for improved security and GDPR compliance, Shimano’s operations were constrained and site availability was at risk.
A comprehensive audit of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and SAP Commerce code and infrastructure led to the implementation of automated AWS provisioning, a streamlined CI/CD pipeline, and robust disaster recovery measures using services like Amazon EKS, EC2, S3, and CloudFront. These improvements enabled autoscaling, reduced downtime, and strengthened security through enhanced access controls and VPN integration.
As a result, Shimano successfully expanded its platform to 11 additional European countries, achieved a 20% reduction in cloud costs, and gained full visibility into system health with consolidated monitoring and alerting. The optimized architecture also supported faster performance testing, easier upgrades, and provided the scalability needed to accommodate a growing customer base while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance.
