Lead UI Engineer

Essential functions

• Lead Development Efforts: Oversee and guide the development of reusable UI components for the platform.
  Review, optimize, and merge Merge Requests (MRs) with a focus on code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Architectural Leadership: Define and implement the strategic architectural vision for UI components, ensuring alignment across applications. Evaluate and challenge feature requests to ensure they adhere to long-term goals and maintain a high standard of architecture.
• Mentor and Coach the Development Team: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of UI components. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Ensure Component Reusability and Consistency: Maintain a strong focus on creating reusable, accessible, and consistent UI components that can be used across various applications.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Vue.js and front-end development, bringing new ideas and improvements to the team. Implement and advocate for best practices in UI/UX development, ensuring the team remains aligned with modern standards.
• Problem Solving and Issue Resolution: Anticipate potential challenges with component implementation and proactively develop solutions to address them. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise during development.
• Ensure Agile Delivery: Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality components.

Qualifications

• Vue.js Expertise: Mastery in Vue.js, capable of reviewing and merging complex MRs with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Team Leadership: Proven experience leading and mentoring development teams, fostering collaboration, and guiding technical decisions.
• Strategic Architectural Vision: Ability to challenge feature requests, ensuring alignment with long-term architectural goals and scalability.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills for working with multiple teams, ensuring clarity and cohesion across projects.
• Component Architecture: Experience designing scalable, reusable UI components used across multiple applications.
• Mentorship: Acts as a mentor, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
• Agile Experience: Comfortable in Agile environments, participating in planning and sprint cycles.
