Staff Data Analyst - Tableau, FinOps

We are looking for a Staff Data Analyst with strong FinOps (Cloud Financial Operations) experience to support our Data Platform/Engineering teams. The ideal candidate should bring both technical data skills and financial acumen.

Essential functions

  • Partner with engineering, product, and finance teams to analyze cloud spend (AWS/GCP/Azure or equivalent) and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Build dashboards, reports, and cost allocation models for chargeback/showback.
  • Track and forecast cloud usage (compute, storage, networking) and align with business/LOB needs.
  • Perform deep dive analysis on usage anomalies, budget overruns, and ROI of infrastructure programs.
  • Support quarterly/annual planning with insights into capacity and cost drivers.

Qualifications

  • Strong SQL and data visualization skills (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).

  • Hands-on with cloud cost and billing data (e.g., AWS CUR, GCP Billing Export, Azure Cost Management).

  • Experience with FinOps practices like tagging, cost allocation, budgeting/forecasting, and efficiency reporting.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R) for automation/analysis is a plus.

  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or a related field.

Would be a plus

  • Familiarity with FinOps Foundation framework and KPIs.

  • Prior experience working in large-scale data platforms or cloud infrastructure teams.

  • Exposure to chargeback/pricing models, unit economics, or financial planning tools.
