Day 2: Building an End-to-End AI/ML Platform for Smart Manufacturing: Pitfalls and Best Practices

Ilya Katsov, VP of Technology at Grid Dynamics

Abstract:

Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning solutions for manufacturing, such as predictive maintenance, visual quality inspection and dynamic equipment control, are big enough challenges. Yet many manufacturers add to that complexity with a patchwork approach of multiple technologies to solve different problems. A powerful infrastructure for data and model management can simplify those technologies with edge and cloud components that enable data collection, processing and labeling; model development tools and environments; and model management, deployment, serving and monitoring. The speaker will also share best practices and common pitfalls. Attendees will learn:

  • How to plan the development of AI/MI platforms for smart manufacturing
  • How to design complex solutions that involves edge and cloud components
  • How to manage sensor and image data collection in complex environments with multiple suppliers
