Senior Software Engineer

Essential functions

·      Analyze workload patterns and business use cases to identify platform weaknesses.

·      Prioritize improvement areas through in-depth log analysis, metric evaluation, and Java/Spring microservices profiling.

·      Collaborate with senior engineering and QA teams to develop tools and recommend proactive testing strategies.

·      Optimize the availability, performance, and security of Java/Spring-based microservices.

·      Lead root cause analyses and postmortems following production incidents.

·      Design and implement monitoring dashboards and alerting systems for the internal developer platform (IDP).

·      Define service-level indicators (SLIs), service-level objectives (SLOs), and custom metrics to enable actionable alerts for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Network Operations Center (NOC) teams.

·      Ensure platform reliability meets or exceeds 99.9% uptime targets.

·      Develop automation for application deployment, infrastructure provisioning and third-party tool integrations.

·      Participate in design and code reviews.

·      Various worksites—job may allow for remote work, job may involve relocation to anticipated or unanticipated locations across the United States, including client sites and Grid Dynamics’ offices throughout the United States and/or company headquarters located in San Ramon, CA.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.     

·      At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered or at least TWO (2) years of experience in the following:

1.     Designing and building microservices architecture and cloud services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

2.     Kubernetes

3.     API Management using Apigee

4.     Pub/Sub

5.     CI/CD practices using GitHub

6.     Building cloud infrastructure using Terraform

7.     Setting up dashboards and custom metrics using New Relic

8. Java & Spring Framework
