Golang developer
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Risk & Payment Platform) to join a high-impact, global engineering team partnering with a Tier 1 Global Financial Network leader. In this role, you will design and implement high-scale backend capabilities for a next-generation enterprise risk platform, maturing the codebase and development processes within an Agile Scrum environment. You will own features end-to-end across high-throughput distributed systems built on Golang, Java, or Python, where extreme reliability, high availability, low latency, and strong data consistency are non-negotiable.
Essential functions
Feature Design & Architecture: Own features end-to-end—from authoring technical specifications and system architecture to hands-on deployment and maintenance in production.
Backend Systems Development: Design, write, and maintain production-quality backend software and microservices using Golang, Java, or Python, utilizing REST and gRPC for high-performance server-to-server communications.
High-Scale Distributed Engineering: Build and optimize resilient, scalable services operating under strict high-availability, low-latency, and strong data consistency requirements.
Data-Driven & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and engineering peers to design, refine, and deliver robust data-driven risk management capabilities.
Risk Management & Technical Visibility: Proactively track technical risks and system issues, reporting progress and status clearly to stakeholders.
Mentorship & Process Ownership: Mentor junior engineers, drive CI/CD best practices, and contribute to maturing development standards and team-wide Agile engineering practices.
Qualifications
Core Language Mastery: Expert proficiency in at least one major server-side language: Golang, Java, or Python.
API Architecture: Hands-on experience developing and integrating server-to-server APIs using REST and gRPC.
Distributed Systems Mechanics: Proven background building, scaling, and operating large-scale distributed systems characterized by high availability, low latency, and strong data consistency.
CI/CD & Engineering Culture: Demonstrated CI/CD mindset with experience in automated testing, continuous integration, and modern deployment pipelines.
Communication & Leadership: Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with a proven ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to diverse audiences.
Would be a plus
Stream & In-Memory Computing: Hands-on experience with real-time stream processing and in-memory computing paradigms.
Big Data Ecosystem: Exposure to Big Data processing frameworks and platforms such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, or MapReduce.
Caching & High-Speed Data: Practical experience with Redis or other distributed caching layers for ultra-low latency data access.
Financial & Risk Domain: Prior experience working on risk engines, fraud detection, or payment infrastructure in regulated financial environments.
