Grid Dynamics is hiring a Senior Android Engineer to develop and enhance a high-load, full-featured e-commerce Android application with a 4.6-star rating on Google Play. Client is from the US, retail industry. The mobile team on the client side is based in San Francisco (PST), while the product owner and UX team are located in Pittsburgh (EST).
Essential functions
- Work with talented engineers for the technical development and delivery of elegant and intuitive app features across development teams, partnering with business stakeholders, QE teams, and other geo-graphically dispersed engineering teams.
- Provide inputs on evaluation, conceptualization, design and development of features.
- Drive for continuous improvement in performance, scalability, extensibility, reliability, and usability of features.
- Monitor and support health of mobile apps in production.
- Migration of codebase to Kotlin.
- New features implementation related to various app aspects.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in mobile development
- 4+ years of experience in software development using Kotlin (Java might be a plus)
- RXJava 2
- Android JetPack
- Retrofit 2
- Dagger 2
- Proficient in Unit testing framework
- ability to work late hours - regular meetings until 19:40 Mo-Th, Friday with tentative meeting at 18:30, regression\release support until 21:00
