Lead Big Data Engineer
We are building high-performance pipelines and scalable infrastructure to generate business-critical reports from massive datasets. Our team is responsible for designing, coding, and validating data processing jobs using the latest Scala/Spark stack, ensuring that implemented algorithms deliver accurate and reliable statistics for stakeholders.
Although this is primarily a Big Data Engineer role, experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices will be a strong advantage, as you’ll also contribute to the development and optimization of the project’s infrastructure.
Essential functions
Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for processing large-scale datasets.
Develop and maintain Spark/Scala jobs to ensure efficient and accurate data computations.
Validate and verify implemented algorithms to deliver correct and reliable statistics.
Collaborate with distributed team members across different locations to align on best practices and solutions.
Contribute to infrastructure improvements, including CI/CD and DevOps initiatives.
Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of data processing workflows.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Scala and Apache Spark
Practical experience working with Hadoop ecosystem
Familiarity with processing and computation frameworks such as Kafka, Spark, and DataFrame/SQL APIs
Experience with multiple database engines: Oracle, PostgreSQL, Teradata, Cassandra
Background in building Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, or large-scale analytics platforms is a plus
Solid understanding of distributed computing concepts, architectures, and design patterns
Would be a plus
