Senior/ Lead AI Engineer
We are launching the Explore (Discovery) phase of ATLAS (VLAOps), a new Greenfield initiative to develop a Visual-Language-Action Operations platform for autonomous heavy machinery. The objective is to build a semantic layer that translates raw machine data (vision and sensors) into actionable, language-driven business intent. The initial focus is on a Stockpile Management workflow. The AI Engineer will define the domain ontology, establish behavioral ground truth rules, and design the methodology for combining vision data with language constraints to enable autonomous operations.

Qualifications
his is a hybrid role requiring the rigor of a Data Scientist and the structural logic of a Knowledge Engineer.
Knowledge Graphs and Ontologies are central. Must understand how to map physical processes to logical structures.
W3C OWL (Web Ontology Language), RDF (Resource Description Framework), and SPARQL.
Strong Python is mandatory for data parsing and scripting the semantic translation layer.
Experience with NLP (Natural Language Processing), Large Language Models (LLMs), and techniques like RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) to ground AI in the ontology.
Working with unstructured operator data (Video, LiDAR, ROS bags, Perception logs).
Would be a plus
Rare Innovation Opportunity: The candidate will define the "Common Language" for autonomous construction machines, working at the intersection of Generative AI, Robotics, and Behavioral Modeling.
Strategic Impact: This is not a maintenance role. The Semantic Engineer is building the "Golden Layer" of architecture, the brain that allows a machine to understand why it is performing an action.
We are working directly with key decision-makers (Chief Engineers/VPs) in a "Second Pod" capacity, meaning we are co-innovators rather than just order-takers.
