Automation Test Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Big Data Tester with strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies and Automation Testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating large-scale data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and automating test cases in a cloud-native environment. The role requires hands-on experience in testing data ingestion, transformation, and processing using big data tools and cloud services, particularly within Microsoft Azure.
Essential functions
Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for big data applications and pipelines.
Perform data validation and data quality checks on structured and unstructured data from various sources.
Test ETL processes, data lakes, and data warehouses built using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse, Databricks, Data Lakes, Blob Storage, etc.
Build and maintain automated test scripts using tools like PyTest.
Create and maintain test data for various testing scenarios.
Develop SQL and Spark queries to validate data across multiple stages of the pipeline.
Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
Identify, log, and track bugs and performance issues, and work with development teams to resolve them.
Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage and quality.
Provide test reports, metrics, and documentation.
Qualifications
AQA Engineer with 4 to 8 years of experience
Cloud services: Azure: ADF, Databricks, ADLS gen 2, Synapse, Pureview
Orchestration: Apache Airflow
Programming skills: Python, SQL
Would be a plus
Data / Analytics experience
