Java Backend Developer
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain robust backend applications using Java, with a key focus on microservices architecture and deployment on GCP. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and reliable cloud-native solutions.
Essential functions
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot, Java/J2EE).
Create and optimize scalable, reliable, and efficient microservices architectures.
Implement RESTful APIs and manage integrations with third-party services.
Deploy, monitor, and maintain microservices on GCP Cloud (Compute Engine, Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, etc.).
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Manage data storage with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in cloud-native and distributed systems.
Ensure application security, performance, and scalability throughout the software development lifecycle.
Perform unit and integration testing using frameworks such as Junit, Mockito.
Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and CI/CD processes.
Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams for seamless cloud deployments.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot framework.
Solid expertise in designing and implementing microservices, including schema design, service orchestration, and scaling.
Strong knowledge of REST API development, integration, and testing.
2+ years’ experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments, preferably GCP.
Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) on GCP.
Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven/Gradle).
Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Would be a plus
Preferred Skills
Certifications in GCP Cloud or Java development.
Experience with other cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Stackdriver, Prometheus, ELK).
Knowledge of security best practices for cloud deployments.
