AI Architect
This is a remote position based in Portugal. While you will be working remotely, applicants must be legally residing in Portugal and eligible to work here.
Grid Dynamics (NASDAQ:GDYN) is looking for an experienced AI Architect to join our CTO team, focusing on AI for Customer Experience and Agentic AI solutions. This strategic role combines deep technical expertise in AI/ML with leadership and communication skills to drive innovation from concept to production. You'll drive pre-sales engagements, lead R&D initiatives to develop next-generation offerings, serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, and lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions for key projects as an architect.
Your focus will be on Customer Experience and Agentic AI solutions such as:
Product Discovery & Selection: Agentic Commerce, Search & Recommendations, AI Photoshooting
Customer Service: Conversational Agents, Agent Assist, Conversational Analytics
Agentic AI: AI Agents for employee productivity, cloud- or platform-agnostic Agentic AI and Enterprise Search platforms
Essential functions
Pre-Sales: Lead and support AI pre-sales activities, assessments and discovery workshops. Plan AI projects of Fortune-1000 enterprises and lead teams of AI/ML engineers who work on client accounts and drive consulting engagements to success. Build hands-on POCs and prototypes to demonstrate solution capabilities during pre-sales processes.
Technology Strategy and R&D: Create and bring to the market solutions in enterprise AI and generative AI. Drive innovation through research and development activities on industry trends, leading RnD teams, developing assets and solutions strategy across multiple industries. Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate new approaches and technologies.
Project Bootstrapping: Lead discovery phases and initial development for new AI projects/programs, helping to kickstart projects from concept to early implementation while establishing technical foundations and team structure.
Engineering: Work with Grid Dynamics’s delivery organization to ensure that the right tools, technologies, and processes are in place across the firm to transform and continuously improve the quality and efficiency of AI/ML solutions for our clients.
Practice Development: Contribute to AI practice growth through developing training courses, defining skill trees, mentoring other engineers, and participating in hiring processes for technical leadership roles.
Partnership Development: Help to develop relationships with key technology partners such as GCP, AWS, Azure, or NVIDIA.
Qualifications
Over 5 years of professional experience developing production-grade AI/ML and Data systems
Proven technical leadership experience as Staff / Principal Engineer or Software Architect
Proficient in Python programming and its ecosystem, particularly for web, AI/ML and data engineering
Hands-on experience with Deep Learning (NLP, Computer Vision, etc.) and popular frameworks such as PyTorch and Huggingface.
Deep expertise in LLMs: open/closed-source models, advanced prompt engineering techniques, RAG, Agentic AI, document processing, vector/hybrid search, guardrails, observability & monitoring, LLM fine-tuning and evaluation metrics.
Strong expertise with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure), related ML platforms (e.g. Vertex AI) and MLOps best practices
Experience in delivering complex AI/ML projects or programs from POC to production with continuous improvements and support
Practical experience in modern end-to-end projects beyond AI/ML - frontend, backend, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring and observability.
Experience in defining and setting up project SDLC
Deep domain knowledge in at least one of the following industries: Finance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Retail.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead discussions with clients and other teams
Proficiency in leveraging AI tools across all aspects of work including UX design, solution architecture, market research, coding to enhance productivity and innovation (we provide licenses for any necessary AI tools such as Anthropic Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, and others)
