Senior Frontend Engineer (Next.JS)

Essential functions

• Establish technical foundations and best practices for large-scale, enterprise-grade Next.js projects within the eCommerce domain.

• Develop and maintain coding guidelines, architectural governance, and performance metrics. Mentor team members, perform code reviews, and ensure consistency and scalability across multiple UI teams.

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.) for Next.js applications to enable fast, stable, and automated deployments.

• Lead the decomposition of monolithic systems into modular, independently deployable micro-frontends; manage shared dependencies, routing, and state management across distributed applications.

• Optimize Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), and Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR) for performance, SEO, and scalability.

• Work closely with UI teams (~30 engineers) and the onsite technical lead to ensure successful delivery of new features, high-quality releases, and alignment with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Extensive, hands-on experience developing and architecting Next.js applications for enterprise-scale projects.

• Deep understanding of React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript ecosystems.

• Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline setup and DevOps integration for front-end applications.

• Proven ability to establish and enforce front-end engineering best practices.

• Expertise in Server-Side Rendering, Static Site Generation, and optimization for Core Web Vitals.

• Familiarity with micro-frontends architecture principles.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.

Would be a plus

• Experience with headless commerce platforms (e.g., Commercetools, Shopify Plus, SAP Hybris).

• Knowledge of GraphQL and REST API integrations.

• Prior experience in high-volume eCommerce environments.

• Experience working with Ember.js or willingness to learn as part of standard AEO tech stack.
