Quality Engineer
Value Added Services (Acceptance Solutions) is a Product Development (PD) group within the Technology team, responsible for building leading-edge, full-service payment solutions. These solutions combine global payment processing, fraud management, payment security, and reporting systems to support e-commerce, mobile commerce, and point-of-sale (POS) businesses.
We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Engineer to design, test, analyze, and optimize large-scale, low-latency, high-throughput payment platforms. This role involves close collaboration with architects, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance for mission-critical applications.
Essential functions
Design and implement application and infrastructure performance plans and models for highly scalable, low-latency, and highly available systems
Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure proper metrics instrumentation for real-time monitoring and troubleshooting
Perform end-to-end performance testing, including load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing
Analyze Thread Dumps and Heap Dumps to identify performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, deadlocks, and resource contention
Develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts using LoadRunner, JMeter, or similar tools
Monitor application performance and optimize bottlenecks to build accurate capacity and scalability models
Evaluate and performance-test APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns in distributed systems
Review application code and recommend performance optimization techniques
Define performance strategies, establish performance baselines, and support Go-Live readiness certification
Document performance testing approaches, scripts, execution results, and analysis findings
Support production performance issue triaging, root cause analysis, and incident resolution
Contribute to capacity planning and disaster recovery exercises
Optimize system components including CPU, memory, disk, network, OS, and application software
Work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in Performance Engineering, Performance Tuning, System Analysis, or Application Development
Mandatory expertise in Thread Dump Analysis and Heap Dump Analysis
Strong experience in performance testing and tuning of large-scale, distributed systems
Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux environments, including OS internals, file systems, storage, and networking
Working knowledge of virtual machines and container technologies
Proficiency in Java and/or Python, along with scripting languages
Strong experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, or equivalent
Experience with APM tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, OPNET, or similar
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, multitasking, and documentation skills
Would be a plus
Experience with payment systems or financial services platforms
Knowledge of microservices and distributed system architectures
Exposure to cloud platforms and container orchestration tools
Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of capacity planning, resiliency, and disaster recovery strategies
Ability to proactively identify performance risks and optimization opportunities
