Automation QA Engineer (Data Engineering Focus)
We are looking for an experienced Automation QA Engineer with Data Engineering exposure to join a long-term enterprise data platform modernization project. The role focuses on validating large-scale data migrations and ensuring high quality, reliability, and consistency of data pipelines in a modern cloud-based analytics ecosystem.
Essential functions
Participate in the migration of an enterprise data platform from HDFS/Hive to cloud storage
Develop and validate Spark-based ETL/ELT pipelines under guidance from senior engineers
Perform functional testing and code validation of data pipelines
Validate migration results to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability
Execute data quality checks and ensure consistency across systems and tools
Analyze and validate processed and migrated data using SQL and analytics tools
Develop and maintain automated tests and integration scripts in Python
Collaborate closely with Data Engineers to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes
Document test results, report defects, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Automation QA Engineer, preferably on Big Data or data platform projects
Strong background in functional testing, code validation, and data verification
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Flink, HDFS, Iceberg, and AWS
Solid Python skills for writing and maintaining automation and integration tests
Good understanding of data analytics:
ability to analyze results, interpret metrics, and validate transformations using SQL, Jupyter Notebooks, or Apache SupersetExperience validating data quality and consistency across complex pipelines
Familiarity with LLMs (e.g., Claude) and AI agent workflows is a plus
Strong communication skills and experience working in distributed teams
Prior ACE experience is highly preferred to enable faster onboarding
